A small but growing band of Christian storytellers formed the Christian Storytelling Conference in 2006. It became a two and one-half day conference the last week-end in June each year. Tellers shared their skills and swapped stories with beginning and experienced tellers alike. For a dozen years, churches in various mid-western U.S.A cities took turns hosting the conference.
In June 2020, the conference was scheduled for southern Illinois. But the Coronavirus pandemic forced its cancelation and inspired the storytellers to move their workshops online via Zoom video conferencing software.
After in-person conferences in 2022 and 2023, the organizers transitioned to local church-directed and -hosted, 1-day seminars. The local church selects workshops to meet their needs from a menu of available workshops and speakers.
